I can announce with great pride and joy that the entire MuLondon range is now approved by Choose Cruelty Free Australia. Choose Cruelty Free Australia

Choose Cruelty Free (CCF) is an independent, non-profit Australian organisation that actively campaigns against the use of animal testing for cosmetics. All MuLondon products have been certified cruelty-free by CCF and will feature on the CCF List online, in the free CCF Android and iPhone app and in the printed booklet produced twice per year.

Choose Cruelty Free (CCF) is delighted to welcome MuLondon to the CCF List of accredited companies. CCF, based in Australia, actively campaigns to end the import, sale and manufacture of animal-tested cosmetics and aims to promote all those companies that have been fighting the same battle. MuLondon is a great addition to the CCF List, offering a number of handmade, organic and cruelty free products. We love being able to work with offshore companies, as the campaign against animal testing is making progress worldwide and is hopefully making consumers more conscious about their choices.” - Liz Jackson, President, Choose Cruelty Free Ltd.

  2. Get The English Rose Look: DIY Home Beauty Spa

Rose is a unique flower. If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I love all flowers - but I have a soft spot for roses. Maybe it's the wide variety of wonderful hues roses come in, from crimson red to pure white. Perhaps it's their resilience, as they flower from spring to winter. Or is it the lush, thick, velvety petals and the rich, intoxicating fragrance? No wonder that the rose is the national flower of England, and that the Rose Garden is the centrepiece of many Royal Parks in London.

Beauty Tip: Fresh As A Rose. Organic Rose Skincare.

Roses symbolise love, passion, beauty and sensuality. Medicinally, roses are astringent, contain vitamins A, C and E and essential fatty acids.

Beauty Tip: Fresh As A Rose. Organic Rose Skincare.

Here are 3 easy ways to benefit from roses and get the English Rose look. When sourcing any ingredients for home remedies, ensure that they are grown without any herbicides - i.e., certified organic, if possible.

    - Steam: Add a handful of rose petals to a bowl of steaming water, position your face above it and cover your head with a towel for 5 minutes to create a mini face spa. This will increase circulation and open up your pores.

    - Scrub: Put a handful of dry rose petals and a handful of oatmeal in a blender and run on pulse for half a minute. Apply right after you've steamed your face, while your pores are still open and your skin is wet. Gently rub, avoiding the eye area. Rinse well with lukewarm water.

    - Mask: Mix a handful or fresh rose petals and half an avocado in a blender until smooth. Eat the other half! ☺ Put some relaxing music on and lie down with a towel handy, as it may get messy. Spread evenly across your face, right after you've scrubbed it, as your skin is now deep-cleansed and ready to absorb all those delectable nutrients. Enjoy for 15 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

    Organic Rose Skincare: Beauty Tips.

Finish off with a splash of rose flower water and a moisturiser rich in rose and rosehip oils, like the MuLondon Organic Rose, Rosehip & Rosemary Moisturiser, which will give you a healthy glow and a rosy shimmer.

You'll be fresh as a rose in no time!

  3. Make The Most Of Your Cleanser In 5 Steps

Are you going through your facial cleanser a bit too fast? Perhaps you have extremely sensitive and dry skin and find your cleanser slightly too concentrated or rich. Here are a few easy tips to make the most of your cleanser and to ensure that your skin ends up looking and feeling supple, soft and hydrated - in 5 simple steps.

Beauty Tip: Make The Most Of Your Cleanser

    1. Wet your face. Do not apply your cleanser to dry skin - they usually works best on wet skin.

    2. Use only one pump or squirt of cleanser per wash.

    3. Rub the cleanser between your hands and gently massage into your face using your fingertips, avoiding the eyes. Do not rub or pull.

    4. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, making sure to remove any cleanser residue from your face. This step is really important, as invisible soap or detergent residue can cause dryness, irritation and redness.

    5. Apply your moisturiser right after cleansing, and while your skin is still slightly wet, to lock in moisture.

When choosing your cleanser, carefully read the ingredient list, avoiding products that contain harsh ingredients that can irritate sensitive skin types. Ingredients to look out for include SLS (Sodium Laureth Sulfate), artificial colour and fragrance and preservatives like MI/MCI (Methylisothiazolinone/Methylchloroisothiazolinone).

To keep it ethical, stay away from palm oil and its derivatives like Sodium Palmate and Sodium Palm Kernelate, and check that your product is cruelty-free by looking for the Leaping Bunny certification logo.

How do you use your cleanser? Can you share any tips? Let me know!

  4. Hemp Is Good

Hemp [Cannabis sativa] is an amazing plant. In addition to over 10,000 years of manufacture for textiles, it has also been used for making paper, and in modern times for biodegradable plastics. Hemp [Cannabis sativa] is an amazing plant. In addition to over 10,000 years of manufacture for textiles, it has also been used for making paper, and in modern times for biodegradable plastics. Hemp grows abundantly without the need for pesticides. It helps detoxify and purify the soil and nourish it with nutrients. Furthermore, hemp also works as a natural weed control agent.

All parts of the plant can be used for industrial purposes, and the seed is a magical reservoir of pure health. Some of the wonderful, healthy products that hemp provides us with include hemp protein and hemp seed oil.

A great alternative to whey or soya, hemp protein is a tasty nutritional supplement which is also rich in fibre. I have found that hemp is much easier to mix with liquids than other protein powders. Try it on its own in soya or almond milk, or in a yummy protein shake with banana or other fruit - great as a post-workout treat! Whether you want to avoid using whey because you are vegan, you are not a fan of soya because you are allergic to it, or you want some variety, give hemp protein a go.

Hemp seed oil is rich in omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids (EFAs).

Hemp seed oil is rich in omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids (EFAs). When buying hemp seed oil, make sure that it is unrefined, to get the most benefits from it. Unrefined oil will be deep green in colour and have a characteristic nutty aroma and fragrance. You can apply the oil directly on your skin, or use it as a dietary supplement. Because of its low smoking point, hemp seed oil is not recommended for cooking. Try it instead as a salad dressing - it goes great with lemon or yuzu juice.

Raw hemp seeds are delicious as a morning cereal or porridge topper. To make them taste even nicer, dry-roast hemp seeds in a pan over low heat for a few minutes. Add tamari or shoyu sauce at the very end to create an absolutely finger-licking salad sprinkle.

Research has shown that hemp seed oil can be useful in treating symptoms of atopic dermatitis and eczema.

There are many medicinal uses for hemp: from pain management to appetite stimulant, and as potential treatment for symptoms of MS, cancer and Parkinson's Disease.

Research has shown that hemp seed oil can be useful in treating symptoms of atopic dermatitis and eczema. 5. MuLondon Signs Test Pledge For Hemp Products

By signing The Hemp Industries Association's Test Pledge, MuLondon commits to implement quality control measures which limit the amount of trace residual THC in shelled hemp seed and oil, thus eliminating the risk of a confirmed positive drug test.

The Organic Hemp Moisturiser is one of MuLondon's best selling products. Fresh, woody, smoky, green and mystical – this moisturiser heals and protects with organic ingredients – shea butter, golden jojoba and a high percentage of pure cold-pressed hemp seed oil. Added oils of black spruce and vetivert root create a uniquely fragranced cream that appeals to both men and women.

MuLondon Signs Test Pledge For Hemp Products

The Test Pledge program was created to ensure customers that hemp seed oil is safe and can not cause a false positive on a drug test. We commend MuLondon for their participation and for their use of hemp seed oil in their product.”, commented Eric Steenstra, Executive Director of The Hemp Industries Association.

Despite the EU laws severely limiting the amount of allowed THC in hemp, there's still some confusion regarding the effects that hemp products can have on drug tests. By signing the Test Pledge, customers enjoying MuLondon's organic skincare products that contain hemp can keep doing so without any concerns, while still benefiting from the amazing healing properties of this unique plant.
